IPC/WHMA-A-620 RE-CERTIFICATION FOR CIS (CERTIFIED IPC APPLICATION SPECIALIST):

The "IPC/WHMA-A-620, Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies" CIS Re-Certification class is designed for students that are currently certified to IPC/WHMA-A-620, who need to renew their certification prior to its expiration.  The purpose of this class is to assist electronic manufacturers to produce high quality products at the lowest possible cost by providing a greater understanding of the basics of cable and wire harness fabrication and installation through our first-rate "IPC standard” continual training.

It is a 2-day extensive review of the IPC/WHMA-A-620 specifications.  The students will participate

in a discussion and an overview of the IPC/WHMA-A-620 standard.  When there are revisions

and/or amendments to this standard, students will discuss the applicable changes.  At the conclusion

of the class, students will be subjected to a written examination.

IPC/WHMA-A-620 describes acceptability criteria for crimped, mechanically secured and soldered interconnection and the corresponding lacing/restraining criteria associated with cable and harness assemblies.  Classes of products are defined and include criteria for Target, Acceptable, Process Indicator and Defect conditions to support the collection of visual quality acceptability requirements for each class.

Certification demonstrates commitment to customer requirements and greatly facilitates certification to ISO Certification or other quality assurance initiatives. By having earned this portable credential, you'll receive immediate recognition, legitimacy and value throughout the electronics industry.

Students who successfully complete this class will receive an IPC/WHMA-A-620 CIS certificate.

The IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification is valid for 24 months, and it is important to get re-certified

before your certification expires.
